How each opens
A casement swings outward on side or top hinges, like a door. A tilt-and-turn does two things from one handle: tilt inward at the top for secure trickle ventilation, or turn fully inward like a door for cleaning and escape. Both are available across the Schüco AWS range.

Cleaning and upper floors
Tilt-and-turn shines above ground level because you can clean the outside glass from inside — no ladders. That alone sells it for many first-floor and above installations.
Looks and sightlines
