A premium door badly fitted is a badly fitted door. Schüco doors installation is genuinely specialist, and knowing the stages helps you judge whether it is being done properly.
1. Technical survey
Before anything is ordered, a surveyor measures the actual opening, checks the structural head and lintel, and confirms the threshold build-up. This is the step that prevents most problems. Choosing an installer who surveys thoroughly is covered in choosing a supplier.
- 1. Survey
- measure, check structure
- 2. Prep
- level threshold, sound reveals
- 3. Set frame
- plumb, square, packed
- 4. Hang & adjust
- align leaves, test seals
- 5. Seal & sign off
- weather seal, demo, warranty
2–3. Preparation and frame setting
The opening is prepared, the threshold levelled, and the frame set plumb and square with correct packing. On wide sliding openings the head must be checked for deflection so the door will not bind as the structure settles.
4. Hanging and adjustment
Leaves are hung, aligned and the lift-and-slide or folding action tuned so it operates with one hand and seals evenly. A rushed job skips this fine adjustment and you feel it every day.
5. Sealing, demonstration and sign-off
Finally the door is weather-sealed inside and out, demonstrated to you, and handed over with written warranties. Keep up the simple aftercare in our maintenance guide. Local supply-and-fit of the full range is handled by aluminium door installers across the county.
